I feel confident that 2020-2021 will be a great year at Dodge
County Middle School. We are excited
about new initiatives such as PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and
Supports), block scheduling, and the many other great things taking place at
DCMS. We are also excited about the
efforts being made to give our school a new and a more inviting appearance.
We are looking forward to a productive partnership with our
parents and the community to ensure that our students reach their full potential. We feel that a strong positive relationship
between the school, parents, and the community will make a great difference in
each child’s education and success. We
want our parents, students, and community to feel welcomed, connected, and a
vital part of Dodge County Middle School.
To help us to take DCMS to an even higher level, we ask that
you and your child please keep the following items in mind to ensure your
child’s success throughout the year:
·
Be present each day and on time for each class.
·
Be prepared for class and have the necessary
materials.
·
Study each night and complete all homework
assignments.
·
Be familiar with the student handbook especially
new initiatives such as PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports),
dress code changes, and other expectations.
·
Look for communication through the agenda,
notes, texts, and/or emails that will keep you informed regarding upcoming
events, activities, or other announcements.
In an effort to increase communication this year, please
take time to stay informed about your child and DCMS by visiting our website at
http://dcms.dodge.k12.ga.us/,
signing up for remind (to receive teacher and school texts), signing up for
a Power Parent account (to keep up with your child’s grades and attendance), keeping
your phone number updated to receive One Call Now messages, or by communicating
with the school or your child’s teacher via email or phone calls.
We are excited about the new possibilities and the educational
challenges that await us this year! The staff, Assistant Principal Dr. Jennifer Bellflower, Assistant Principal Dr. Derrick Allen, and myself feel privileged to be a part of Dodge County Middle School. We would like to thank parents/guardians and
the community for your support and look forward to working with everyone during
the 2020-2021 school year.
